African Wildlife Sketches by Leon de Kock

African Art are delighted to bring you a selection of amazing wildlife sketches by Leon de Kock, an African artist based in Ireland. Born in Rhodesia, he then moved to South Africa and in 2013 settled in Ireland. 

Leon in his own words:

'I started sketching at high school, and carried on until my early teens. With military call-ups, apprenticeship, work, marriage and generally just too busy, I stopped my art. Last year my youngest son and daughter-in-law sent me an artist's set for my birthday, so I had to make an effort! I started sketching again, and found I hadn't lost the touch, and have been enjoying myself with the charcoals since.'

The sketches are beautifully detailed and we will be bringing a couple of them to the Fair Alternative market on Saturdays in November and December.
